Teaching Assistant - Phonics KS1

Cover People are currently recruiting for an Teaching Assistant to work across all key stage 1 providing Intervention support around Phonics.

The Role

A large, warm and welcoming Primary School based in Rochdale are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide support across KS1 supporting pupils with phonics interventions. The role would be to work full time Monday – Friday, the working hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm.

The school require the Teaching Assistant to be skilled and experienced with working with children in Key Stage One. The Teaching Assistant would also need to have previous experience working with phonics (any phonics scheme). The successful Teaching Assistant would also need them to be skilled at working in a team, following direction, as well as be reliable and punctual with good attendance. 

The candidate must have:

  • Prior experience working with children within KS1 / School setting
  • Experience and knowledge of phonics
  • Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • DBS on update register
  • References for last 2 years work history
  • Up to date CV
