Cover People are currently recruiting for a full time, SEN Teaching Assistant in an SEN School based in Oldham. The role is to start as soon as possible.
The Role
Are you a passionate Teaching Assistant with experience in Special Educational Needs and challenging behaviour? The School are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is highly experienced and familiar supporting ASD students. The TA must be confident and able to manage challenging behaviour.
The candidate must have:
- 6 months experience working with children
- Experience and knowledge of supporting children with SEN and complex needs
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Confidence to adapt to any situation
- DBS on update register
- Team Teach Training
- References for last 2 years work history
- Up to date CV
The School
The school is based in Oldham and is a generic special needs school for pupils and students between the ages of 11 and 16.
The school has an outstanding rated provision which caters for 380 pupils with a wide range of SEND, from moderate learning difficulties to profound and multiple learning difficulties, including severe and complex learning difficulties. The school also caters for pupils with physical disabilities, multisensory impairments, visual impairments, hearing impairments and specific conditions including autism spectrum condition. All pupils have an EHC plan. In order to cater to the needs of the range of pupils the school has developed a range of different provisions.
