Computer Science teacher needed in Penang, Malaysia for an August start. The salary range is RM13,325 for a teacher with 1 year experience up to a maximum entry point of RM15, 445. These include the RM2,500 housing allowance. There is also an annual flight allowance, health insurance and an RM 3,000 relocation allowance. Specific Responsibilities are as follows: • Lead and coach teachers and students in using technology in the classroom aligned to approved frameworks • Ensure staff development needs are identified, and appropriate professional learning is available. • Support teachers in immersing students in problem solving, design thinking, technology and hands-on creating in classrooms and innovative learning spaces with the goal of addressing the needs of 21st century learners. • Model, support and promote digital citizenship including monitoring the "Responsible Use Policy", procedures and education school-wide. • Conduct needs assessments, develop technology-related professional learning programs, and evaluate the impact on instructional practice and student learning. • Contribute to the creation of an overarching integrated IT Vision and Strategic Development Plan, ensuring alignment with our School Values and Mission Desired Profile: • Certified teacher with at least five years successful classroom experience. • Experience teaching Computer Science to A- level. • An understanding of key learning theories and their relation to technology supported learning. • Record of engagement with peers through conference presentations, professional writing, personal learning networks and communities of practice. • Experience in implementing initiatives such as learning networks (VLE/LMS, Blogs), digital citizenship, flipped classroom, inquiry-based learning, gamification, maker movement etc.
