SENTA Cover People are currently recruiting for a SEN TA for a full-time role in a Special Primary School in Stockport from September 2020. The Role This post is to join the Teaching Assistant staff within the school supporting pupils with additional learning needs. Above all, you must be child-centered in your approach and have the motivation and ability to work with children who may not relate well to conventional teaching methods and to find connections to engage the harder to reach children. There is a strong emphasis on the nurture and care of our children combined with a significant focus on their emotional and mental health and wellbeing. Staff work tirelessly as a team to create a safe, inclusive and fun environment where children can receive the support they need to help them overcome personal barriers and obstacles and to make progress with their learning The candidate must have: • 6 months experience working with children • Experience and knowledge of supporting children with SEN • Excellent behaviour management skills • Must of some knowledge of and experience of working with children with ASD, SEMH, EBD, Complex Needs, ADHD, PMLD or Down’s Syndrome. • Excellent communication skills • DBS on update register • References for last 2 years work history • Up to date CV The School The school is a primary aged special school over three sites that caters for children with; Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and those with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Complex needs. Children are placed in small class sizes with a high staff: pupil ratio.
