SEN Teaching Assistant
Cover People are working in partnership with an outstanding mainstream secondary school in Bury, who are looking to employ an SEN Teaching Assistant for their SEN department. A warm and welcoming secondary school in a desirable location with excellent transport links. The school has excellent provision, with a vast number of resources to help you and the pupils that you’ll be supporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Help create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Work alongside the teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop effective strategies for students.
- Provide support and guidance to students, help them to overcome challenges
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEND needs is highly desirable.
- Desire to work in mainstream secondary schools
- Passion and drive to help impact the lives of the children around you
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Previous experience working within a school for 6 weeks+.
