A reputable international school located in Cairo, Egypt, is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Primary Music Teacher to join its dynamic arts department. The school operates the British Curriculum and is dedicated to fostering creativity, musical appreciation, and foundational performance skills in young students. This role is ideal for a teacher passionate about introducing the joy of music to primary-aged children within a supportive and multicultural educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality music lessons to primary students (ages 5-11) in line with the British Curriculum framework.

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive primary music curriculum that includes singing, rhythm, movement, instrument exploration (such as recorders and percussion), and basic music theory.

  • Organise and direct primary school choirs and ensembles, leading performances for school events, assemblies, and concerts.

  • Foster students' appreciation for diverse musical genres and cultures through interactive and skill-based teaching methods.

  • Collaborate with primary class teachers and the wider school community to integrate music across the curriculum.

  • Maintain a well-organised and stimulating music classroom and manage resources effectively.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field.

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).

  • Essential: Significant experience teaching Primary Music within the British Curriculum.

  • Strong proficiency in a variety of musical instruments and teaching methodologies relevant to primary education.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
