Cover Supervisors– Manchester Are you a graduate living in Manchester? I am currently working with secondary academies in Manchester who are looking for graduates and HLTAs interested in gaining teaching experience by working as a cover supervisor on a temporary basis. The role will include: • Taking the lead in the absence of the teacher • Conduct pre-planned lessons • Encourage learning • Managing the behaviour within the classroom • Managing handover back to the teacher • A background or degree in science, English, ESOL, or sports would be beneficial The School: • 11-16 Academies and secondary schools in Manchester • Broad range of schools some with Good or Outstanding Ofsted status • Excellent facilities for teaching and learning • Head teachers with a clear vision for the school development and pupil progress • A supportive positive working environment for trainee teachers • Easily accessible by bus and car We welcome applications from people with experience of: • Working as a Teaching assistant in Secondary or SEN schools • Sports coaching • Youth work • Drama Workshop / drama school/ theatre in education • Art workshop • Working in Sunday schools, mosques or synagogue schools • After school club • Summer Camp • Scouts/Guides • Outdoor activities instructor / Duke of Edinburgh/ orienteering with young people The Benefits: • Flexible supply work • Competitive pay rates • No planning or marking responsibilities • No taking work home • Ideal for graduates who want a more flexible approach to their working life As a Cover People Cover Supervisor you will need: • 6 weeks experience in an environment working with children or teenagers • Someone who can complete a reference to account for your experience of working with children • A positive can do attitude to respond to busy schools • A degree or a relevant Cover Supervisor or Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification • To be able to get to schools in Bolton by 8am with 30 minutes notice For further information, please call Sinead & Suzanne on 0161 505 0439
